Flyers 1998 - 2005

This work is a video archive of around 400 printed flyers, postcards and invitations, collected in different European cities during seven years. The basis for the selection is random and personal: apart from mainly including cultural events, the choices describe my own itinerary and travels through Europe at this time. Beside questions about what an archive is or should be, and how selection and representation in general is performed, the work illustrates my interest in documenting and transcending the banality of quotidian and ephemeral communication, in order to locate its unexpected poetic and vibrant qualities.
